Military Higher Studies Courses (CAEM)

Presentation:

The Military Higher Studies Courses (CAEM) strives:

  1. to prepare students for staff, command, chief or director positions;
  2. to conduct school research in CAEM;
  3. to plan, execute and evaluate teaching and learning in order to accomplish the curriculum and Plans of Disciplines (PLADIS) in coordination with the Educational Division (DE);
  4. to cooperate with the Doctrine Division in the research and development of the military doctrine of the Land Force;
  5. to assist students and provide them a liaison with the other courses and divisions of the School; and
  6. to guide and conduct research topics which are relevant within the framework of the School's Postgraduate Program.

 

The Military Higher Studies Courses (CAEM) are:

  1. Command and General Staff Course (CCEM);
  2. Direction and General Staff Course for Medical Officials (CCEM/Med);
  3. Command and General Staff Course for Partner Nation Officers (CCEM/ONA);
  4. Direction Course for Military Engineers (CDEM);

 

The purpose of CCEM is to enable and train combatant officers (Infantry, Cavalry, Artillery, Engineering, Communication and Ordnance) to:

  1. exercise the staff positions and functions of large units (Brigades) and the higher commands of the Land Force and other organs of equivalent level; and
  2. exercise command positions and functions of large units (Brigades) and of higher commands of the Ground Force and the functions exclusive to combatant officers.

The purpose of CCEM / Med is to enable and train medical officers to:

  1. exercise the staff positions and functions specific to the Medical Service in large units and higher commands of the Land Force and in other organs of equivalent level; and
  2. exercise the positions and functions of directors of the Medical Corps.

The purpose of CCEM/ONA is:

  1. to enable partner nation officers to perform general staff functions,
  2. to strengthen ties of friendship with the represented countries.

The purpose of CDEM is to enable and train Military Engineers (QEM) to:

  1. exercise the efficient advising in entities of the administration of the Army;
  2. conduct or advise on activities related to industrial mobilization;
  3. exercise in positions and functions provided in the framework of engineer officers.

 

DUTIES AND RIGHTS OF STUDENTS

Student duties::

  1. to fully attend all classes and instruction;
  2. to dedicate himself to his own intellectual, physical and moral improvement;
  3. to contribute to the prestige of the School;
  4. to conduct himself with honesty in all activities developed;
  5. to cooperate for the conservation of material and assets of ECEME;
  6. to participate in all planned on-campus and off-campus activities;
  7. to strictly observe the dictates imposed by law, military ethics, norms of morality and customs; and
  8. to comply with regulatory standards and superior standards.

Student's rights:

  1. to additional exams if he / she has not obtained the minimum grade by the evaluation standards;
  2. to request an exam review, in accordance with current regulations;
  3. to meet with other students to organize, within the framework of ECEME, cultural, civic, recreational or sports associations, under the conditions approved by the ECEME Commander;
  4. to the competent authority, as provided for in specific legislation;
  5. to have access to the Psycho Pedagogical Section for specific guidance; and
  6. to request to cancel or withdraw from the course.
