Preparatory Course for Military Higher Studies Courses (CP/CAEM)

The Course was created in 1965. It lasts 9 months and is carried out through distance learning. The objectives are:
- to train officers to participate in the selection processes for ECEME courses, on an equal basis, regardless of the garrison where they are deployed;
- to provide cultural background for the officer’s good performance in the School courses;
- to provide cultural background for the good performance of officers in school courses; to increase the general knowledge of Army officers, emphasizing History, Geography, Written Expression, Geopolitics and Strategy, considered essential for the senior officer and future commander;
- to stimulate and encourage self-improvement through the habit of reading and research; and to develop the holistic vision and understanding of the international and national conjunctures.
