Meira Mattos Institute (IMM)

The Meira Mattos Institute (IMM) links ECEME with the civil academic environment and strategic studies centers (CEE) inside and outside of the country. It also conducts the studies, events and strategic study trips of ECEME.

In this context, IMM carries out high-level assessments on political and strategic issues of interest to ECEME and the Army, when requested. It comprises the Department of Research and Post Graduate Studies (DPPG), which are responsible for academic research within ECEME. They provide master’s, doctorate and posdoctorate courses recognized by CAPES to civilians and military personnel.

Additionally, IMM includes the Center for Political and Strategic Studies (CEPE), the Interagency Events and Relations Section (SERI) and the Publication, Dissemination and Cataloging Section (SPDC).
